Congratulations! You’ve made it to the interview stage now it’s time to learn the tips to secure the job.
Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Dress smartly, look tidy, and look presentable.
Be on time. It sounds obvious, but some people still have trouble being on time. Early is on time, on time is late.
If possible, visit the location beforehand or look it up so that you’re not lost on the day.
Turn off your phone completely don’t just put it on silent. A silently buzzing phone is more annoying than a ringing one.
Use appropriate language during the interview, even if the person interviewing you doesn’t.
Prepare answers for some of the obvious questions you’ll be asked, like Why do you want to work here?
When asked a question, take time to answer it fully. A quick short answer isn’t impressive, but a thought out one is.
Have a couple of relevant questions to ask at the end.
Be honest it is after all the best policy.
Be positive about the company you want to work for find out what good they’ve done and work it into some of your answers.
Focus on what you can do for the employer and not what they can do for you.
Listen to everything the interviewer says there may be some keys to securing the job in what they tell you or ask from you.
You may be asked if you have any weaknesses everyone has them. Think about one and be honest about it and how you plan on overcoming it.
After the interview, send an email thanking the interviewer for their time and consideration, regardless of the outcome.
Ask for feedback, whether negative or positive.
